One dreary winter weekend, I followed an online workshop of ultra-talented botanical illustrator Svetlana Lanse.

Despite the workshop being held live in Russian with no subtitles, I was so stubborn and determined to participate and see the end because I wanted to learn her amazing mastery of light and color. With some good old Google live translate-fu, I was able to follow along.

After 6 grueling hours, voilà. Nothing like a bright red orange physallis to brighten up the grim and dull December weather.
